After a lifetime of illustrating what God intended for husband, father, and grandfather to represent, Carroll Marshall Jr. (affectionately known as Bob, Poppy, and Uncle Bob) was called home to take hiseternal rest with the Lord on Sunday December 31, 2023.
Carroll Marshall Jr. was born on November 24, 1958, to the late Carroll Marshall, Sr. and Juanita Marshall. He was one of seven brothers and sisters. Carroll received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System and earned his diploma from Southwestern Senior High School where he proved to be a standout basketball player.
During his teen years Carroll met and fell in love with his soulmate Beverly Washington. After a very loving courtship the two became one under God as the joined in holy matrimony in 1987. From this union Carroll and Beverly were blessed by God with three children the late Lataysha Jessup, Shanika Marshall, and Carroll Marshall III. The children became the center of Carroll’s life, and he did everything in his power to shower them with love and nurture; making sure that they never needed anything. Carroll was a dedicated employee for many years for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the Goddard Space Center until he was unable to do so because of health issues.
Even with health challenges Carroll continued to enjoy life and always greeted everyone with a smile and great conversation. He was the type of person that once you met him you felt his energy and it was like you were best friends. If you knew Carroll you would know that his favorite things to do were to watch his basketball, cheer on his Ravens and O’s, but most of all spend time with his family especially the grandchildren. He continued to do these things until he was called home to a life of eternal reward. He is now at rest with his mother, father, sister Juanita, daughter Lataysha (Punkin) and granddaughter Angel Cash. With saddened but loving hearts mourning his loss are his beloved wife Beverly Marshall, children Shanika Marshall, Carroll Marshall III, remaining siblingsTyrone, Charlotte, Dallas, Alice, Michael, 7grandchildren (Jamira, Morgana, Ny’Tierra, Mylyke, Derrick Jr., David, Charles), 1 great grandchild(Skylar), and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
