Daisy Crawford Obituary

Daisy Inez Crawford was born to the late Douglas and Daisy Christina Daye on October 30th, 1939, in Appomattox Virginia. She was the apple of their eye being the first daughter after having three sons. At a young age Daisy relocated to Baltimore with the family. She received her education through the Baltimore public school system attending Dunbar high school. Later furthering her education through the CNA program and graduating as a certified nursing assistant. She worked for several nursing homes throughout the Baltimore area. Daisy and her family moved to Turner station area in Baltimore County. Daisy met the love of her life in Turner station, the late Theodore Crawford Sr. They joined in holy matrimony on June 18th, 1958. They were married for 63 years when the lord called home Theodore in 2021. From this union six sons were born. In the early 1960’s Daisy joined Evans Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop John Lee and Armishal Evans located in east Baltimore. She was a devoted and faithful member for over 40 years holding several positionsduring her membership. She loved teaching  Sunday school and the honor of her position as Mother Crawford and on the church board. The doors to Evans Temple was forced to close and mother Crawford followed her husband and two of her sons as an honorary member of Shiloh Christian Community church under the leadership of Rev. Jimmy Baldwin Sr. She was a faithful member of the Shiloh church until the week before her death. She always enjoyed the warm hugs, kisses and smiles  when she would arrive to church from all the wonderful members of Shiloh. After church Daisy always looked forward to her Sunday dinners the tradition she had done for over 50 years. As her health started to decline She still insisted on preparing Sunday dinners with her son Alan to  assist her and taking her grocery shopping and doing most of the cooking. She would take this opportunity to fellowship with her sons, daughters in-laws and grandchildren, if we were not there by a certain time she would start calling us. She enjoyed watching and supporting the Baltimore Ravens during Sunday dinners with her sons. Mother Crawford brought her sons to church every Sunday during their youth and teenage years. If you lived in her house you was going to church on Sunday mornings and she didn’t care how old you were or what you did the night before.  She accepted part of her motherly duties was to introduce her young men and show them the love of God and the importance of baptism and trusting and leaning on the word of God. Where ever she went her smile and warm heart always displayed her walk with the Lord. She would always pray for you and with you and give you several scriptures to read. (Psalms 91) She fought a good fight and praised the Lord until he called her home on December 15th 2024.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted sons Andrey and Theodore Crawford Jr. (proceeded her in death).
