Obituary

Tavont’e Lashawn Briggs , better known as Smack started his life on December 26 1987 at University Hospital in Baltimore , MD , sadly his life came to a tragic end on Sat July 25 th 2020. Tavont’e was born on  Dec 26 th 1987 at University Hospital, a late Christmas present to myself and our parents Veronica Jenkins and Bryant Briggs Sr., I wanted a puppy lol ,but a lil brother was just as good I guess. And over the years alot of times over the years that puppy probably would've been a whole lot easier to deal with lol 

Tavonte was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System ,beginning with Bentalou Elementary School , and ending with North American trade school where he received Certification in HVAC in 2016. 

Smack, as he was called by many family  members and friends , loved to stay fresh , or have the latest shoes and clothes for all the ones who aren’t hip. He loved  basketball, listening too and making music, playing the game , running the streets, and running his mouth. The only things he loved more than running the streets or running his mouth , was his family and his real friends . He loved his whole family and all his friends , but his bonds with the closest people to him were unbreakable , no matter what he said out his mouth we all knew that in his own stubborn way, he loved us and never meant to disrespect us or cause us any pain.

As a young  child Tavont'e started off quiet , but once he started  talking he rarely ever shut up. I remember when they brought him home from the hospital, he had a rock head and, the biggest brightest eyes ever, years later those eyes would appear in several other family members .  Aside from being quiet he was also slow to start walking , but once he started walking he went straight to running and never slowed down until the day he left this Earth. Tavonte was a strong individual, he  was very independent and determined. Nothing or nobody could stop him once he made his mind up about anything. He was very hands on, especially during his younger years when he liked to fix bikes. He used to like to take things apart just to see how things work. Tavonte was a jokester, and was very charming and charismatic . He also was a good father , though he wasn't perfect he tried to be the best father he could beat all times. He wanted to make up for all the lost time , being inconcerated for the 1st 10 years of India’s life from when she was 1 month old until after she turned 10. He always wanted  to make sure India’s future was better than her past, and to all those who really truly loved and cared for him ,will miss him, mourn him, and continue to celebrate his life forever and ever .

 Tavont’e leaves us to remember his smile, his mood swings ,his sense of humor , and his trademark phrase “ that's a missile “ . 

Smack is preceded in death by his Grandfather David  " Smooth Grandpop " Tates,  father Bryant Briggs Sr.
